Facility Tour
If you arrive in Rotterdam early, why not join us for a tour of 3 different self storage stores around the city, as well as the Dutch Pinball Museum? Busses will leave from the Postillion Conference Centre at 3:00pm and will return by 6:30pm, possibly earlier depending on traffic.
Shurgard Giessenweg
This store is highly visible between the A20 and A13 motorways. With 1300 units over 3 floors, it has a huge range of unit sizes and four lifts to allow easy access to the upper floors. There are direct-access mobile units with 24h access, motorbike storage and a drive-through loading area. Shurgard acquired the site from another operator in 2015.
Shurgard Schuttevaerweg
A second Shurgard store only a short distance from Giessenweg. Also over 4 levels, but slightly smaller with only 750 units. The store was purpose-built by Shurgard in 2011 and now uses their new app-based access control system.
1 Box Barendrecht
This building was constructed in 2008 for the company Bosman Aerospace where special parts were built for Airbus and Boeing. It was sold to Bergen 6 after they moved operations to France following the pandemic. 1BOX converted the building into self storage and opened the store on April 20, 2023.
The total area of 5,600 m2 has been converted to 3,607 m2 leasable area with over 600 units across 2 levels. This store has a fantastic position along a through road with residential on one side and a retail area, including Ikea Praxis, on the other. The property has no gas connection or heat grid and, with increased insulation and a passive ventilation system, only requires minimal electric heating on the coldest of winter days.
Dutch Pinball Museum
Take a break from self storage and revisit your childhood with this museum of over 100 playable pinball machines, some over 80 years old. One of the largest playable publicly accessible collections in the world. Try your hand to get the best scores, or just enjoy a drink while watching others.
The facility tour is included in the cost for any Full Tickets, but please indicate on booking if you wish to attend. For any other tickets, the Facility Tour can be added on for €80.
