And because no good Boxtoberfest tradition starts without a twist, we're adding a surprise stop to the itinerary. We won't spoil it just yet — but let's just say it involves the kind of hospitality Germany is famous for, and it won't be a self-storage facility.

The Lager Crawl takes place on Tuesday 22 September, ahead of the Welcome Feast in the evening. It's the perfect way to set the tone for the days ahead: learn something, see something new, and raise your first Stein among friends.
The facility tour runs from 14:00 to 17:00. Please be at the Rheim Heim Convention Center 15 minutes before departure, as the bus leaves promptly at 14:00 and will bring you back to the venue at the end of the afternoon.

The Shurgard Wiesbaden facility is part of one of Europe’s leading self storage networks, with more than 350 locations across Europe including Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Belgium and Denmark. Shurgard is a major force in the self storage industry, combining accessible storage solutions with strong security standards and convenient digital services.
Located at Friedrich-Bergius-Strasse 9 in the Biebrich district, the Wiesbaden facility offers over 700 storage rooms across 4 floors. As with all Shurgard facilities, security is a key priority. The site is equipped with traditional and proven security measures such as controlled gate access, access via application, motion sensors and 24-hour CCTV. Units are accessible daily from 7am to 9pm, with flexible contract terms and short notice periods. The facility also benefits from a large parking area, making loading and unloading quick and convenient, and is well connected to main roads and public transport.
For added convenience, customers can manage their account, pay invoices and open gates directly via the Shurgard app, making access simple and secure. During this visit, you will have the opportunity to explore the facility, see the different unit sizes up close, and discover how Shurgard combines security, flexibility and technology to deliver a modern storage experience.
My Place Wiesbaden
MyPlace currently operates six sites in the Rhine-Main region, with around 5,000 storage units and 27,000m2 – three in Frankfurt, one in Mainz, one in Offenbach and one in Wiesbaden. Opened in 2008, MyPlace Wiesbaden has been serving the local community for over 15 years.
The facility spans approximately 5.000m² of net self storage area, housing around 1.000 units and is also home to a bakery as a long-term commercial tenant, adding a unique touch to the site. Unit size ranges from 1 to 50m², all clean, dry and monitored by video surveillance 24/7, with access available seven days a week from 6am to 10pm. Every unit is secured with a personal access code, and the site is equipped with alarm systems and CCTV to ensure the safety of every customer's belongings.
Today, MyPlace operates 75 stores across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with a significant market share of 34% and tens of thousands of storage units across its network.Henkell Schloss
To close the facility tour, we'll head to Schloss Henkell, the striking palatial home of Henkell Freixenet's sparkling wine house on Biebricher Allee, just a short drive from Shurgard Wiesbaden. Built between 1907 and 1909 by architect Paul Bonatz, the estate has overlooked the Rhine for over a century. We'll gather in the Marmorsaal, the building's magnificent hall of Greek and Italian marble, for a guided tour and a glass of Sekt. The perfect toast to end the visit.
