Entries Are Open for the FEDESSA Awards 2026
This is your chance to enter the FEDESSA Awards 2026 — the biggest platform for recognition in the European self storage industry.
We know how hard you work to make your business the best it can be, so why not shout about it and let the rest of the industry know too? The FEDESSA Self Storage Industry Awards celebrate your achievements and reward the people, facilities and businesses that make your company successful.
What Winners Receive
Winners get recognition and exposure throughout the industry, plus:
- A bottle of Champagne
- A prestigious FEDESSA Award Trophy
- A framed, personalised certificate for display
- A copy of professionally taken photographs from the presentation, ideal for your own promotional materials
- Promotion in the post-conference issue of UNLOCKED magazine, and on the FEDESSA and SSA UK websites, for one year following the Awards
- A press release to distribute to your local media
Winners are also encouraged to use other PR opportunities, including local and regional newspapers, magazine contacts, local radio, or their own company website.
Eight Awards
This year, no less than eight awards are up for grabs:
Multi-Site Operator Store of the Year — Sponsored by Janus International Europe
Judges look for an outstanding store, evaluated on the same criteria as Independent Store of the Year, that is worthy of the respect of industry colleagues and enhances the professional image of the industry.
Expansion or Conversion of the Year — Sponsored by Stora
Open to operators and suppliers who have worked on a project where an existing store was expanded, or an existing building was converted into self storage. Not applicable to new builds or buildings entirely demolished prior to construction.
Independent Store of the Year — Sponsored by OpenTech Alliance
Judges look for an outstanding store, evaluated on location and construction, appearance, security, marketing, online presence, pricing strategy, community, and sustainability.
Manager of the Year — Sponsored by Self Storage Systeme
Judges look for an outstanding manager, evaluated on sales success, marketing, personality, complaints handling, and innovative thinking.
Innovation Award — Sponsored by Space Manager
Open to operators and suppliers. Not restricted to a specific service, facility or product — entries should be innovative to the industry, provide a clear benefit, and have a lasting impact going forward.
Sustainability Award — Sponsored by Kinnovis
Open to operators and suppliers. Entries can address environmental sustainability (reducing carbon, energy use, waste, or water use) and/or social impact (positive effects on employees, customers, or the community).
External Storage Site of the Year — Sponsored by Universal Storage Containers
For outstanding external stores with at least 90% of their self storage space in drop-down units such as shipping or collapsible containers. Judges evaluate business performance, location and construction, appearance, security, marketing, online presence, pricing strategy, community, and environment.
Marketing Campaign of the Year — Sponsored by S4S Nordic
Judges look for a marketing initiative that stands out and has delivered real results, evaluated on creativity, messaging, outcomes, cost benefits, and future steps.

Who Can Enter?
Entry is open to current members of all associations within FEDESSA, including SSA UK, and — where applicable — individual staff members and groups from member facilities and companies. FEDESSA retains the right to contact finalists for further information on their submission.
How Do I Enter?
Read through the entry and judging criteria, write your entry (Word document or PDF preferred), and email it to [email protected] together with a completed Permission to Publish form.

A separate submission is required for each award entered. All submissions must be in English and may be supported with additional photographs or related materials.
